ParaState Newsletter April – May
1. ParaState Shortlisted as Top-Voted Talk for Polkadot Decoded
One of the most compelling features of the blockchain is its ability to enable open, decentralized voting on virtually all aspects of a community. So we were delighted to be chosen as a top-voted talk by you the community program curators of one of the most popular global blockchain conferences, The World of Polkadot: Decoded.
Michael Yuan’s talk on A Ethereum Compatible WebAssembly Runtime Pallet for Al Substrate Blockchains was voted into the top three most popular talks. The Polkadot Decoded conference, being held virtually from May 19–20, features 40 talks and workshops on all things Polkadot. Come join us with all your questions about the exciting AI and Ethereum WebAssembly frontier for Michael.
2. Release of ParaState Ethereum Gateway User Guidelines
Towards the end of April, we released the ParaState-Ethereum Gateway User Guidelines together with a short 3.5-minute video. As parachains launch on Polkadot this year, many dApps are eager to experience the thrill of the scalability, cross-chain interoperability, and security of Polkadot. The ParaState-Ethereum gateway is the bridge between the Ethereum network and the ParaState network on-ramp to Polkadot.
The guidelines take you through the initial setup steps, so you can easily and quickly access the gateway when needed. Once connected to the bridge, dApps can maintain Ethereum compatibility while using the highly optimized, and extensible smart contract execution environment of Polkadot.
3. Release of Testnet Node Setup Guidelines - How to Become a Validator
Following the release of the ParaState Testnet Node Setup Guidelines, many have questions about how to become a validator and join a validator set. Once you setup a ParaState node and join the testnet, you can submit your request to join the validator group.
Here’s some basic info we need from a potential validator:
public key
email
Discord handle (once we finalize our discord channel, this is the best way to manage all validators in the long term)
Keep in mind that we only accept 20 applications in FCFS on a weekly basis
3. Towards Mainnet – Active ParaState Global Node Network Emerging
We call them Spartans for a reason. Thanks to the valuable assistance from our Spartan engineers/developers, our Polis ambassadors, for educating the tech community and ensuring deployments run smoothly, we have onboarded and set up a vast network of nodes for Mainnet staking. They are gallantly helping to extend the frontier of Ethereum with Substrate and bring us closer to the MainNet/ $STATE token sale Rocket. (DATE??) Node operators will earn $STATE, the ParaState native Ethereum protocol token, in exchange for securing the network.
4. ParaState’s Ambassador Program Creates New Global Nodes and Communities
We have received invaluable support and input from all our ambassadors, Spartans, Evangelists and Citizens across the globe.
Would you like to be one of the nodes in the ParaState ecosystem — the most active development project among nextgen Web 3 projects? To accommodate the over 100 dApps and growing, we are building out our node network. Helping to build the ParaState node network is one of many Incentivised Community Initiatives you can perform as a member of the ParaState Ambassador Program.
Roles range from social media marketing to testing ParaState’s protocol environment and running a node.
Submit your application early to take part in the program running from April to June 2021.
Choose your role.
Evangelist – Get hands-on and play with the network. Do a deep dive on ParaState tech and promote and educate others about us through workshops, meet-ups, and social media.
Citizen – Want to know how to run a node for a Proof of Stake blockchain? Connect content, guides, and experts to node operators and other knowledge seekers.
Spartan – Run a node, deploy a smart contract on the testnet, identify a bug, build a better explorer. You are the guard of the ParaState Polis.
The total budget of the Polis Program exceeds $100,000 in rewards! Allocations in the ParaState token offering and positions on ParaState’s Dev Team are other perks.
For the full list of ambassador opportunities, and perks and rewards, see the ParaState Ambassador Program introduction.

5. Still Time to Catch ParaState Co-founder Michael Yuan’s AI at the Cloud Edge Talk at Cloud Native Wasm Day
If you missed the virtual Cloud Native Wasm Day at the Linux Foundation on May 4th, you can tune into the event and presentations on the cutting edge of WASM and EWASM through June 17th, or anytime on the CNCF YouTube channel. Our co-founder Michael Yuan discussed AI inference on the edge cloud using WASM. Our favorite question:

7. The Korean Volunteer Group – A Small Miracle
Our newly launched South Korean volunteer group is growing faster than the Miracle on the Han River (a period of rapid South Korean economic growth in the early 1950s). We received over 400 entries within 24 hours of the launch. The enthusiasm of our vibrant global communities is motivating more developers to build on ParaState for the new cross-chain economy emerging on Polkadot.
For the latest on Korean ParaState developments, catch up with the most recent ParaState AMA with FireAnt (in Korean).
