The world of Web 3.0 dApp development is all about the ability to write EVM contracts in the most loved programming language, Rust.
So what happens when you combine the fast and flexible Rust programming language with ParaState, the fastest and first Substrate blockchain with integrated EVM and Ewasm? Our community of developers are showing us at our 2-month long Hackathon where they are exploring and innovating at the frontier of Ethereum WebAssembly in Rust.
Let’s jump into the action and see how the developers are progressing at building dApps with high performance Ethereum compatibility at the ParaState Hackathons and Workshops.
Here are the highlights!
[Announcement] Pre-whitelisting for the ParaState Public Offering Event is Open
The Pre-whitelist Public Offering Event is for ParaState early community members. STATE is the native utility token of ParaState, the multi-chain smart contract platform bridging the application and developer ecosystem between Ethereum and Polkadot, and other networks that aim to provide high performance Ethereum compatibility.
ParaState Public Offering Event Pre-Whitelist Guidelines
In order to ensure that our early community members have priority access to our upcoming public offering event, we will snapshot the wallet addresses of the first 8k users who have interacted with the “Plato” testnet.
Participants who are in the snapshot list need to provide their registered email account on Repulic. See Detailed Guide.
Participants still have to pass the KYC requirements on Republic before final qualification to access the public offering event. Users who are qualified for the final whitelist on Republic will have 48 hrs early access priority to the public offering event, allocation on a First Come First Serve basis.
We want to accommodate as many community members as we can for the whitelist; However, our third party service provider, Republic, is unable to KYC participants from the following jurisdictions: the United States, China and countries that are subject to sanctions by FinCEN (see here: https://home.treasury.gov/policy-issues/financial-sanctions/sanctions-programs-and-country-information).
The deadline for pre-whitelisting is until the first 8k users are filled.
Two Weeks Left to Join the ParaState Hackathon and Compete for the 100,000 USD Reward Pool
Hey Hackers!
You can still join our two-month Grant Hackathon, running from Oct.16th 21:00 ET to Dec.15th 21:00 ET.
Our Hackathon has attracted many developers eager to sharpen their Rust programming skills for the rapidly expanding world of Ethereum-compatible applications on Web 3.0. The fastest way to seamlessly migrate your Ethereum dApps to the popular Polkadot ecosystem is by using our innovative Ewasm virtual machine, the SSVM Pallet. And now you can do so with the easy-to-use Rust programming language, in addition to 20+ other languages.
More developers are building dApps for Ethereum now that they can use the widely used Rust programming language with the support of its favored toolset. Join other developers from around the world from the Ethereum and Rust camps who are both competing and collaborating on developing projects on ParaState to run on highly scalable solutions with superior performance to Ethereum.
How to Participate in the Hackathon
To compete for the total of 100,000 US dollars in rewards at this virtual event co-organized by DoraHacks, join here: https://hackerlink.io/grant/Parastate/

4 Workshops on Writing Ewasm in Rust
We are holding four free Hackathon workshops on working with Rust hosted by our own ParaState Rust engineer Antonio Yang. The online workshops are being broadcast live on DoraHacks, Bilibili.com and YouTube, and the replays can be found on YouTube.
The workshops are part of our mission at ParaState to bring Ethereum-compatible smart contracts built for the scalability and speed of high performance blockchains into the mainstream by supporting popular programming languages like Rust, as well as 20+ other programming languages.
Writing Ethereum WebAssembly in Rust I
Here’s how to set up your SewUp project to write Ewasm in Rust and then run a test in test runtime.
Writing Ethereum WebAssembly in Rust II (Key Value) – Nov 3rd
Learn how to use the highly customizable Key Value Storage feature using SewUp for Rust.
Writing Ethereum WebAssembly in Rust III (Token) (in Chinese) – Nov 12th
Writing Ethereum WebAssembly in Rust IV (in Chinese) – Dec 3rd
Once you have polished your development skills using ParaState with Rust, go forward and show the world your Ewasm programming skills in the Polkadot Hackathons rolling out across the globe.
Wear Your Loyalty to ParaState
At the next Polkadot hackathon, why not show off your status as an experienced developer working with the fast and flexible ParaState SSVM Pallet by wearing our t-shirt. Our t-shirts and sweatshirts are designed by Swag Fashion — the brand for hipsters and coders. Vote on the latest ParaState designs below.
Building the New dApps Ecosystem in Polkadot With ParaState
The metaverse and DeFi are among the fast-growing sectors of the dApps universe making new demands on developers. New dApps need to be interoperable, interactive, fully compatible with the Ethereum ecosystem through EVM, and fast — by default. Is this all possible?
In a new article Building the New dApps Ecosystem in Polkadot With ParaState, we discuss the many advantages of the ParaState SSVM Pallet. The ParaState SSVM pallet is at least 10x faster than the leading non-WebAssembly runtime solution, and has demonstrated the highest overall performance.
ParaState Twitter Followers Crosses the 8,000 Mark!
We may not be as hot as Justin Bieber in the Twitterverse but we are gaining rockstar status among the developer community focused on building Ethereum-compatible applications for Web 3.0. We are the first production ready Ethereum compatible Substrate blockchain that supports both EVM & Ewasm for Polkadot.
Sri Lanka Community Surpasses 1k Followers on Telegram
Go Sri Lanka! The Sri Lankan community has been an enthusiastic supporter and contributor to the ParaState community. We look forward to meeting more of you at future hackathons. You can check out their ParaState Infographic contest contributions here.
The upcoming public offering event.
We are thrilled to announce the kick-off of our public offering event in around one month on Republic. We will publish the whitelist guidelines soon. Stay tuned!
About ParaState
Known as Ethereum on steroids, ParaState is a multi-chain smart contract platform bridging the application and developer ecosystem between Polkadot, Substrate and Ethereum, as well as other chains wanting to provide Ethereum compatibility. While supporting the EVM pallet to provide seamless compatibility with all existing Ethereum applications, ParaState also provides developers with a next-gen smart contract implementation environment, Ethereum-flavored WebAssembly. These two infrastructures are ensured to talk to each other and share the same account system on ParaState.
